Denver 7 News reported the Colorado Insurance Commissioner, lawmakers, and homeowners are working together to explore solutions to the looming homeowner’s insurance crisis. Wildfires are being cited as the reason many Coloradoans are unable to keep or obtain homeowner’s insurance. One proposed solution is a state-backed insurance plan or insurer of last resort. The group is also working to answer the question, “How do we reduce the risk of wildfire?”
