Microsoft Teams Live Event Instructions
Participants who plan to view the webinar on a laptop or desktop computer have the option to access the live event through the Chrome, Firefox, and Edge web browsers instead of the Microsoft Teams application. If you would prefer to view the webinar through the Chrome, Firefox, or Edge web browser, skip the Downloading Teams section below and review the Joining the Webinar section. If you would like to download Microsoft Teams, see the Downloading Teams section below.
Participants who plan to view the webinar on their smart phone, tablet, or Safari web browser on an Apple computer will need to download Microsoft Teams to their device before the live event begins. Review the Downloading Teams section followed by the Joining the Webinar section to proceed.
Downloading Teams
Note: Users who are planning to view the webinar on their laptop or desktop computer and who use the Chrome, Firefox, or Edge web browser can join through their browser if they do not wish to download Microsoft Teams. If you would prefer to view the webinar on your PC through the Chrome, Firefox, or Edge web browser, skip to the Joining the Webinar section.
To download Microsoft Teams to your Windows or Mac laptop/desktop computer:
- Visit the Microsoft Teams download page
- Click the Download Teams button
- Click the Download Teams button once more
- Microsoft Teams will download to your computer.
To download Microsoft Teams to your smart phone or tablet:
- Visit the Microsoft Teams download page
- Tap the Download Teams button
- Tap the Download Teams button once more
- The app store corresponding to your mobile device will automatically open. Download the Microsoft Teams app from this screen

Joining the Webinar
Each registered participant will receive an email containing an invitation link which will bring them to the live event.
To join the webinar:
- Click or tap the event link sent within the invitation email
- This step will vary depending on the device you are using to view the webinar. Find your device listed below and follow the related instructions to continue.
• If you are using a laptop or desktop computer with the Chrome, Firefox, or Edge web browser and would like to view the webinar via one of these browsers*, click the Watch on the Web instead button and advance to Step 4
*Laptop/desktop PC users who use Chrome, Firefox, or Edge can also view the webinar within the Microsoft Teams application if they prefer. If Microsoft Teams isn’t installed to your PC and you would like to join the live event within the Teams application, review the instruction related to your specific device in the Downloading Teams section above
• If you are using a smart phone, tablet, or Apple computer with the Safari browser and have already downloaded Microsoft Teams*, click any option which refers to opening the Microsoft Teams application [a or b]
*If you have not yet downloaded Microsoft Teams, review the instruction related to your specific device in the Downloading Teams section above - This step only applies to users who are joining the webinar on a smart phone or tablet. After choosing to open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device, a login screen will open. Tap the Join as a Guest button to continue
- The Microsoft Teams application or browser window will open and display the webinar feed. If you arrive early, Teams will notify you that the live event has not started yet
