Winston-Salem man charged with insurance fraud involving repossessed car

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Cornell Isaac Taylor, 40, of 1221 Motor Road, Winston-Salem, has been charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Taylor of filing a claim with Dairyland Insurance, saying his 2011 Dodge Charger was stolen when he knew it had been repossessed by the finance company.

The offenses occurred on Oct. 14, 2020.
