Three Jersey City Men Arrested For Insurance Fraud

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:

Three Jersey City residents were arrested by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit on charges relating to the filing of fictitious insurance claims on an automobile that was allegedly being used for the ridesharing apps Lyft and Uber.

Muhammad Khan, age 21, Haq Khan, age 24 and Yasir Raza, age 34, have each been charged with one count of Insurance Fraud in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-4.6a, a third-degree crime and Conspiracy to Commit Insurance Fraud in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a(1) and 2C:21-4.6a, a third-degree crime.
