KOMO News reported on Tacoma’s ongoing street racing and takeover problem. They report that in November 2021, the Pierce County Council passed a Stay Out of Areas of Racing Order (SOAR) that includes penalties of arrest and vehicle impound. The Washington State Patrol expects more street racing and takeover events as the weather gets warmer, and state they will continue to work with cities and counties to arrest organizers, participants, and attendees.
