An NICB agent received a request from a member SIU for assistance regarding an insurance policy that was allegedly obtained by using a stolen bank check. Investigation also indicated that the same subject may have obtained a second policy with another insurance company using a stolen bank check. The subject reportedly filed claims with both insurance companies for a stolen vehicle. The NICB agent provided both insurance claim files to an Illinois Police Department, which lead to an arrest warrant being issued for identity theft; subject was later arrested.
