Port Hueneme Man Pleads Guilty to Automobile Insurance Fraud

VENTURA, California — District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Jason Aguilar, formerly of Port Hueneme, pled guilty to automobile insurance fraud.

In July 2018, Aguilar allowed his automobile insurance policy to lapse by failing to make payment. In
August 2018, Aguilar was in an automobile accident. After the accident, Aguilar called his auto
insurance company and reinstated his policy. At the time he reinstated his policy, Aguilar falsely stated
that he had not been in any automobile collisions or accidents in the prior six months. Aguilar later
reported to his auto insurance carrier that he was in an accident once the policy had been reinstated.
