Paulding County Woman Wanted for Pet Insurance Fraud

Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, January 19, 2024

ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Amanda Lindley, 39, of Dallas, has been charged with 48 counts each of insurance fraud and forgery.

Between January 2019 and December 2022, Ms. Lindley submitted 48 claims under her pet’s health insurance policy, advising the insurance company that her dog received care from several veterinarian clinics in Atlanta.

“Upon investigation, our special agents confirmed that Ms. Lindley altered the date and cost of the procedures on each invoice,” said Commissioner King. “The suspect changed several invoices to reflect a larger amount than was charged and initiated several claims for visits that never occurred. In total, she received nearly $45,000 from the false claims.”

In addition to her fraudulent claims, Ms. Lindley used the fraudulent invoices on a web-based donation site to receive additional payments from sympathetic citizens. Warrants were issued against Ms. Lindley on January 10, 2024. She remains wanted at this time. Our office is working with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office on this investigation.
