NICB Special Agent Houston Receives Award from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief

On May 15, 2024, NICB Special Agent C. Houston along with members of the SCARLET task force received the Chief’s Award for Excellence in Policing from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings. At the annual awards ceremony SA Houston and his law enforcement partners were recognized for their success.

In 2023 the SCARLET Team recovered 180 stolen motor vehicles with an estimated value of $11 million dollars, seized approximately $941,000 in cash, 111 guns, narcotics with a street value of over $900,000, executed 112 search warrants, and initiated investigations that have led to 85 felony arrests. There were over 800 criminal charges obtained in 40 jurisdictions.

In 2024 the SCARLET Team has recovered 40 stolen vehicles with an estimated value of $2,687,000, seized approximately $196,388 in cash, 27 guns, 70,399.9 grams of marijuana, 500 grams of promethazine, 3,042.7 grams of fentanyl, 101.9 grams of methamphetamine, 5267.5 grams of cocaine, 1632.93 grams of mushrooms, executed 79 search warrants, and initiated investigations that have led to 45 arrests.
