NICB Attends Vehicle Crimes Prevention Event Hosted by Newport News Police Department

The Newport News Police Department gave steering wheel locks to local residents.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, the NICB attended a vehicle crimes prevention event hosted by the Newport News Police Department at the Peninsula Korean Baptist Church in Newport News, VA. The police department provided catalytic converters VIN engraving service, glass (windows) etching service, steering wheel locks and gun safety locks to residents who came from various jurisdictions of the Virginia Peninsula and Southside Hampton Roads. The staff efficiently provided etching services to 126 vehicles during this one-day event.

Auto theft and catalytic converter theft prevention materials were provided by the Virginia State Police HEAT program and the NICB.

This event was attended by members of Newport News Police Department, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), and the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA).
