On August 18th, an NICB agent received an LPR sighting notification from NICB Headquarters regarding a 2019 Dodge Charger, reportedly stolen in June from Nevada. The agent responded to the Missouri location and could not locate the vehicle. The agent responded to the area again on August 20th, and observed the vehicle parked in a rear alleyway 2 blocks away from the original sighting location. The vehicle was observed unoccupied, but due to the location the agent believed a driver would respond back to the vehicle. The agent contacted local law enforcement’s Anti-Crime Task Force and a suspect was observed entering the vehicle and operating it a short time later. Detectives were able to take the suspect into custody, along with locating evidence reportedly connecting them to the original theft of the vehicle from Nevada. The suspect, a violent convicted felon, had numerous fugitive warrants for their arrest as well. The vehicle was recovered undamaged.
