Los Angeles Pharmacy Owner Sentenced to Federal Prison after Pleading Guilty to Operating a Multi-Million Dollar Health Care Fraud Scheme

On February 7, 2022, a US District Court judge sentenced a West Los Angeles pharmacist to 30 months in federal prison for his part in a $14,000,000 compounded drug scheme.

The sentence follows pharmacist Navid Vahedi’s February 2021 guilty plea and a January 2022 sentencing of Vahedi’s business, Fusion Rx Compounding Pharmacy, to five years of probation.

The judge also ordered Vahedi and his pharmacy to pay more than $4,000,000 in restitution.
