On 6/19/23, a long-term investigation by 6th Division Impact of a criminal enterprise involving vehicle thefts from all over the nation, vehicle cloning, title falsification, and narcotics distribution culminated in the execution of five search warrants in five LMPD divisions by LMPD's SWAT team (and a sixth search warrant in Jeffersontown) followed by searches from generous units all over the department: 1st Div Detectives & Impact, 2nd Div Impact, 3rd Div Detectives, 4th Div Impact, 5th Div Detectives, 6th Div Detectives & Impact, 6th Div Patrol, 7th Div Detectives, 8th Div Detectives, CID Major Case Detectives & K-9s, Tech Ops Detectives, Jeffersontown PD Narcotics, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office, KSP Vehicle Investigations, assisted by NICB Investigators. In addition, at several other locations stolen vehicles were recovered. In total, approximately 30 stolen and/or cloned vehicles were recovered along with 3 car haulers, a trailer, and a boat. The total preliminary value of the vehicles is over $3 million. A large quantity of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine was located as well.
