The NICB assisted a member company and local law enforcement with the investigation of a water damage claim that allegedly occurred prior to the insured obtaining her insurance policy. As a result of the investigation, the individual entered into a plea agreement in which she pled guilty to felony drug charges, was sentenced to serve jail time and probation, and was ordered to pay full restitution to her insurance carrier.
