Federal Investigators charged 23 for Staging Car Accidents in Massive Insurance Fraud Scheme

There are 23 people who have been charged and indicted for their alleged roles in a massive health care fraud scheme where they staged a series of car accidents to cash in on false insurance claims.

Four of the 23 indicted remain fugitives on the run from law enforcement.

A 138-count indictment against the accused was announced by Vanessa R. Waldref, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, which charges the accident individuals living in Washington, California, Michigan, Nevada, and British Columbia, Canada for not only their roles in staging 14 car accidents but also obstructing an official proceeding and making false statements to the FBI.
