Dr. Clinton Battle routinely issued prescriptions for controlled substances without conducting proper medical examinations knowing the drugs would likely be diverted for illicit distribution. Battle was found guilty on charges of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit mail fraud. He was sentenced to 144 months in the Bureau of Prisons and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $376,368.
