ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that Dawann Davis, 30, of Jonesboro, has been charged with insurance fraud and forgery.
Mr. Davis initiated a claim with his insurance company that stated several items were stolen from his vehicle in early January. He submitted a Boost Mobile receipt for recoverable depreciation and was subsequently compensated nearly $4,000 by his insurance company.
“During the course of our investigation, we determined that the receipt submitted by Mr. Davis was inauthentic,” said Commissioner King. “He later initiated a second claim listing items from the fraudulent Boost Mobile receipt as stolen.”
Warrants were taken out against Mr. Davis in Clayton County on June 30th for Insurance Fraud and Forgery in the 1st Degree. He has not yet been apprehended on these charges.
