On 7/14/2020, Mexican State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 Kia Rio that had a license plate belonging to a Chevrolet Astro. When Mexican State Police ran a search on the two suspects in the Kia, they found that one of the suspects had a warrant out for her arrest in connection with alleged trafficking of undocumented immigrants. NICB Special Agent confirmed the Kia was reported stolen and belonged to a rental car company. The Kia and both suspects were taken into custody. Repatriation efforts are ongoing.
