Alleged High-Rise Auto Theft Ring

Texas police initiated an auto theft investigation into allegedly stolen vehicles located in a downtown high-rise apartment residential parking garage.  Officers reportedly located several stolen vehicles and proceeded to follow-up with a resident who was possibly connected to the vehicles.  NICB provided investigative, vehicle identification and VIN verification assistance.  Follow-up investigation indicated the person of interest may have been in possession of multiple credit cards in different names, IDs with different names, stolen license plates to various vehicles and key fobs to various vehicles.  A search of the residence reportedly yielded 16 pounds of Marijuana, numerous grams of other substances including promethazine, Xanax, Meth, Adderall and other unidentified substances.  Three persons of interest were arrested on charges of alleged Tampering with Government Document, Fraud Use / Possession of Credit / Debit Cards, Possession with Intent to Deliver / Manufacture Controlled Substance and Possession of Controlled Substance.
