A member company requested assistance with a stolen/missing trailer load of 700 Frigidaire air conditioners with a retail value of $160,000. The shipment had been brokered multiple times and commercial identity theft was suspected. Information led to a trucking company that had conducted previous business with the initial broker. NICB was able to secure police assistance and provided information on the involved individuals. Shipping documents are under review to determine if criminal charges can be sought and the load was redirected to the consignee.
