NICB Supports the Insurance Careers Movement
The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) continues to support the Insurance Careers Movement, a grassroots effort that seeks to inspire young people to choose a career within the insurance industry. Over the next month, NICB will engage in an industry-wide campaign through our social channels highlighting why you should consider a career within the insurance industry.
In the modern workplace, success is a team effort and depends on every person's ability to develop connections within and outside the company. We hope more millennials realize the massive career opportunities on the horizon in the insurance industry. Within the insurance carriers and related activities sector, roughly 20,000 jobs were added in 2019 alone. In May of 2019, the greater finance and insurance sector had 204,000 job openings.
Here at the NICB, we are always looking for ways to promote why NICB is such a great place to work. We are the industry leader in the fight against insurance fraud and theft and work every day to help our member companies and law enforcement.
Thanks to a seasoned special investigator with Kemper, Christopher Gormley, we can offer a young SIU professional the opportunity to attend the NICB "Fraud Academy." Gormley wanted to do something to honor his son Christopher James Gormley Jr., who drowned attempting to save someone's life. "Christopher James had such a kind heart, and I wanted to do something in his honor. I would have loved the opportunity as a young SIU member to attend this academy, and I’d like to keep this scholarship a tradition to help the SIU community," said Gormley.
This scholarship will allow a worthy candidate who exhibits the need and the same desire to do great things to obtain the skills to become a future leader within the SIU profession.
If you would like to apply for the scholarship, click here.
(note: if you have already registered you can still apply for the scholarship, and if selected you will be reimbursed)
We hope you will continue to share the reasons why you chose a career within the insurance industry. To learn more about the movement, click here.
Make sure to follow NICB on social media, and we encourage you to engage in the conversation.
